The Critical July Evaluation Period – NCAA Basketball
For NCAA college coaches, the NCAA July evaluation period is a critical time. As the coaches in order to catch a glimpse of the next recruit jump from basketball camp to basketball camp that could keep their team at an elite level or could possibly turn their program into a contender, the month of July is a big month for coaches .
There will be plenty of college coaches in the immediate vicinity wherever Michael Gilchrist, the small forward of Elizabeth, N.J. is playing and he is widely regarded as the prize of this year’s recruiting class. In coming season, he is also tipped to be a NCAA basketball odds favortite. Austin Rivers, the small guard, is another prospect that is challenging Gilchrist for top billing. By many of the NCAA coaches, Rivers is highly regarded and he plays for the United States under 18 national team. For the July evaluation period which extends from July 6-15 and 22-31, most coaches will be in Las Vegas .
For NCAA College coaches, the July evaluation period actually has made the summer months more enjoyable. Now that the recruiting period has been condensed their activity into one intense month of wooing prospects and making inroads with their coaches and limited to only the July evaluation period, so they can be tipped off when the next NCAA quality player is featured.
Las Vegas which include the best prospects in the nation, is the central hub of activity for summer leagues and the largest summer tournaments. The best ones are located in Las Vegas even though there are other locations featuring major tournaments and camps.
